UsedTruth offers software tools to help you research vehicles, plan repairs, and review shop quotes. This page explains what our services are and what they are not, so you can use them with clear expectations. If anything here conflicts with our Terms of Service, the Terms control.

In short

  • Outputs are for general information only, not legal, financial, mechanical, or safety advice.
  • We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or that any vehicle is safe, roadworthy, or fairly priced.
  • A hands-on inspection by a qualified mechanic remains the right way to confirm condition before you buy or authorize major work.

1. Informational services only

UsedTruth (including TruthAudit, TruthGuide, QuoteGuard, recall lookups, and related features) provides automated analysis and summaries intended to support your own research. Nothing on the site is a certification, endorsement, appraisal, or inspection of any vehicle, repair, or invoice.

2. TruthAudit (vehicle history analysis)

TruthAudit reviews materials you provide (such as history reports) and may cross-reference public sources (for example, recall data). Results depend on the quality and scope of those inputs. History reports can be incomplete or wrong; not all incidents are reported; and our analysis may miss issues or characterize them differently than a human expert would.

TruthAudit is not a vehicle inspection, title search, or fraud investigation. Always verify important facts independently and rely on a professional inspection before purchase when it matters to you.

3. TruthGuide (DIY / repair planning)

TruthGuide is an educational planning aid. It may suggest videos, parts, tools, or steps based on your description and available data. That is not a diagnosis, repair procedure approved for your exact vehicle, or a substitute for factory service information, torque specs, or a licensed technician when safety-critical systems are involved.

You are responsible for confirming fitment (including trim, engine, and model year), local regulations, and safe work practices. If you are unsure, stop and consult a qualified professional.

4. QuoteGuard (quote review)

QuoteGuard compares extracted line items to modeled or web-informed benchmarks when available. Benchmarks are estimates: real shops vary by equipment, warranty, parts quality, and local conditions. Results are not a determination that any quote is fraudulent, unreasonable, or incorrect.

Use QuoteGuard to ask better questions and compare context, not as the final word on what you should pay or authorize.

5. AI and third-party data

We use artificial intelligence and third-party services (such as payment processing, hosting, analytics, and AI model providers). AI can make mistakes; third-party data can be delayed or inaccurate. We do not control external sites, retailers, or government databases and are not responsible for their content or availability.

6. No warranties

The services are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, UsedTruth disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that results will meet your needs, be uninterrupted, or be error-free.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, UsedTruth and its owners, operators, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the services or reliance on any output, even if we have been told such damages are possible.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the services will not exceed the amount you paid to UsedTruth for the specific product or analysis that gave rise to the claim (or, if no fee applied, one hundred U.S. dollars). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.

8. Your decisions

You decide whether to buy, sell, repair, or authorize work. You are responsible for verifying facts that matter to you and for any financial or safety outcomes. UsedTruth is one input among many, not the only one.

9. Professional inspection

For used-vehicle purchases, we encourage a pre-purchase inspection by a qualified mechanic you trust. Many problems (mechanical wear, hidden damage, electrical faults) will not appear in a history PDF alone. UsedTruth is meant to complement sound judgment and professional help, not replace them.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this disclaimer from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated disclaimer. Questions? Reach us through the contact options listed on our website or in our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law

This disclaimer is governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would require another jurisdiction's law to apply. Specific venue or dispute terms may also appear in our Terms of Service.

By using UsedTruth, you acknowledge that you have read this disclaimer and understand that the services are informational tools with inherent limitations.
