Terms of Service

UsedTruth provides software tools for used-car buyers and owners, including:

• TruthAudit: AI-assisted analysis of uploaded vehicle history reports (for example, Carfax or AutoCheck PDFs).
• TruthGuide: DIY repair planning from symptoms you describe (videos, parts, tools).
• QuoteGuard: AI-assisted review of shop quotes against modeled benchmarks.
• Free tools: such as recall lookups by VIN or year/make/model.

UsedTruth is informational software only. It is not a dealership, insurer, inspection service, or legal advisor. See our Disclaimer for important limitations.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and able to form a binding contract to use paid features. You are responsible for compliance with local laws that apply to you.

TruthAudit is $0.99 per paid analysis where a fee applies, unless a promotion or configured price makes it free.

QuoteGuard is $0.99 per paid quote review where a fee applies, unless configured otherwise at checkout. Optional live web benchmarks may be included when available; they supplement the line-item audit from your upload, not replace it.

Shared complimentary runs. From time to time we may offer a limited pool of free TruthAudit and QuoteGuard runs (for example, 25 total uses shared across both products). When that pool is exhausted, standard pricing applies. Availability, pool size, and eligibility are not guaranteed and may change without notice.

TruthGuide and free recall tools are offered at no charge unless we state otherwise on the product page.

Prices shown in the app or at checkout control. Stripe processes payments; payment is required before we deliver the corresponding paid feature unless the effective price is $0. Unless required by law, all fees are final and non-refundable once the paid feature has been delivered or consumed.

You agree not to:

• Upload content you do not have the right to use, or that is illegal, fraudulent, or malicious.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or circumvent payment, rate limits, or security controls.
• Misrepresent outputs as professional inspections, certifications, or guarantees.
• Use the service in a way that infringes others' rights or violates applicable law.

We may suspend or refuse service if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or abused the platform.

You retain ownership of materials you upload. You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide the service you requested. AI-generated outputs are provided for your personal research and decision support; we do not transfer ownership of third-party data (history reports, OEM manuals, retailer listings, etc.) referenced in outputs.

Use of UsedTruth does not create a mechanic–client, appraiser–client, attorney–client, or fiduciary relationship. Always verify important facts independently and consult qualified professionals before buying a vehicle or authorizing repairs.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, USEDTRUTH DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Additional disclaimers appear in our Disclaimer.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, USEDTRUTH AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO USEDTRUTH FOR THE SPECIFIC PRODUCT OR ANALYSIS THAT GAVE RISE TO THE CLAIM (OR, IF NO FEE APPLIED, ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100)). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE CASES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM PERMITTED BY LAW.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless UsedTruth and its operators from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the service, your uploaded content, or your violation of these Terms, except where prohibited by law.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data, cookies, and analytics. You may disable optional analytics using Privacy & cookie settings in the footer.

We may modify these Terms or the service at any time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the service.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would require another jurisdiction's law to apply, except where mandatory local law provides otherwise.
